The screw conveyor is a general purpose conveyor used to transport powdery and small pieces of materials. The various bearings of the screw conveyor are in the dust caused by the conveying materials, and its working environment is usually not clean. Therefore, the main requirements for reasonable operation and maintenance of the screw conveyor under such working conditions are as follows:

1. The feeding of the screw conveyor should be continuous and uniform, otherwise it will easily cause the accumulation of conveyed materials, the overload of the drive device, and the damage of the whole machine due to excessive torque. Equipped with automatic flushing and reverse thrust anti-clogging devices can be effectively improved.

2. The screw conveyor should be started when there is no material to be conveyed in the casing, that is, when there is no load. After starting, it runs smoothly and starts to feed material to the conveyor inlet. In order to make the screw conveyor start without residual material in the casing, so the conveyor has to stop running after the feeding is stopped and the material conveyed in the casing has been conveyed.

3. The conveyed materials must not be mixed with hard and large materials, which can jam the screw during feeding and cause damage to the screw conveyor blades, drive motors, reducers and other components.

4. In use, check the working status of the screw conveyor for abnormal noise. Pay attention to whether the fasteners are loose. If the organic parts are found to be loose, you should tighten the bolts in time to re-tighten them.

5. Special attention should be paid to whether the bolts connecting the screw shaft flange and the connecting shaft are loose, dropped, or cut. If such phenomena are found, the machine should be shut down and repaired immediately.
