Components
The main structure and components of various types of scraper conveyors are basically the same. It consists of three parts: the head, the middle and the tail. In addition, there are auxiliary parts such as hydraulic jack device for pushing conveyor and chain tightening device for chain tightening. The head of the machine is composed of a machine head frame, a motor, a hydraulic coupler, a reducer and a sprocket. The middle part is composed of transition groove, middle groove, chain and scraper. The tail of the machine is a device for the scraper chain to return. The tail of the heavy-duty scraper conveyor, like the nose, is also equipped with a power transmission device, which is called the upper nose and the lower nose from the position of installation.

According to the arrangement and structure of the chute of the scraper conveyor, it can be divided into two types: parallel and overlapping. According to the number and arrangement of chains, it can be divided into four types: single chain, double chain, double center chain and triple chain.

Practical application
The scraper conveyor can be used for horizontal transportation or inclined transportation. The inclination angle of the coal seam shall not exceed 25° when transporting along a slope, and the inclination angle shall not exceed 20° when transporting downwards. When the inclination angle of the coal seam is large, anti-skid devices should be installed. The bendable scraper conveyor allows 2°～4° bends in the horizontal and vertical directions.

working principle
The working principle of the scraper conveyor is to use the open chute as a bearing part for coal, gangue or materials, and fix the scraper on the chain (to form a scraper chain) as a traction member. When the driving part of the machine head starts, the sprocket on the driving head shaft rotates, so that the scraper chain circulates and moves the animal material along the chute until it reaches the machine head to unload. The scraper chain bypasses the sprocket and runs in a stepless closed loop to complete the transportation of materials.

Disadvantage

1. The no-load power consumption is relatively large, about 30% of the total power.

2. It is not suitable for long-distance transportation.

3. Improper adjustments are prone to accidents of chain drop and chain jump.

4. Consume a lot of steel. The cost is big.
